See Op-Ed by Back to the Start Participant Donald Thompson

Mr. Donald Thompson, a former participant and current facilitator of the Back to the Start program, authored an Op-Ed in the San Diego Union Tribune that addresses proposed budget cuts affecting programs that support foster youth. Proposed cuts include the Housing Navigation and Maintenance Program, which is aimed at preventing homelessness among those transitioning out of the foster care system. Thompson wrote about how his life could have turned out differently if these program were available back when he was in the foster system. He asks the Governor not to go backwards, and to restore these vital services for our most vulnerable youth.
