Eddie Herena

Eddie Herena is a self-taught photographer and aspiring artist. His interest in photography was born in the heart of the media center at San Quentin State Prison, where he captured life and culture for the San Quentin News until his release in late 2018. He generously availed some of these photos for the Back to the Start website and brochure.  Since this release, Herena has not put his camera down but continues to grow in the industry as a professional artist with a plan to enroll in San Jose State University’s BFA in program.
